When I meet a client for the first time, they always ask "can you take a lot of candid shots of my kids?” This is my favorite thing about photographing children; their random expressions and those big ol' eyes! Most of the kiddos I have taken photos of are in good spirits. This little guy might have been the happiest kid I've ever seen. He laughed nonstop for the entire session. The innocence of childhood is what makes photography for me so fun. Those big bright eyes, and their sweet smiles. If I can capture that perfect moment of someone's child, I've done my job. Apparently this little lady isn’t scared of spiders. She had one on her face the entire time I was shooting, and she seemed completely content being outside with her parents while they made silly faces at her the whole time. If only I could have gotten photos of the parents making faces at their little girl. Second shooter for family photo sessions, maybe? I don't have any kids of my own, so this is a great way for me to see how kids interact with their siblings, parents and their general surroundings. It's pretty awesome to see those moments frozen in time. Capturing a child's emotion and being put on display in someone's home, that's what makes my job so special.
