MY FIRST ENGAGEMENT SESSION - My brother and sister-in-law were nice enough to trust me to take their engagement photos. With my name being Ashleigh, I named my business Ash Images when I first started. I wasn't quite sure what direction I was headed in, and at the time, I thought this name was clever. I came to the conclusion that I needed to change my business name, and I came up with Sonora Photography. Sonora is actually a character's name in one of my favorite movies growing up. Made the move and I'm never looking back. After a few years, I got used to being around couples and I started to really enjoy engagement sessions. I finally figured out what kind of look I was going for, and how I wanted to stand out from other photographers. I wanted my photos to pop, to be bright and full of color. When I decided that I wanted to become a photographer, I always compared myself to others. That's one way to lower your confidence as a business owner. Some have been doing this for years and years, and have more experience. All I can do is grow, and to remember to never stop learning.
